Leiden, Netherlands, 15 October 2024 – Join us for a SkiLMeeT research webinar where Piotr Lewandowski from the Institute for Structural Research (IBS), Poland, will present preliminary findings on how robotisation influences the educational and vocational choices of teenagers.
The webinar will take place on 28 October 2025 at 14:00–15:00 CET. Register here
Together with Karol Madoń, Piotr uses data from Norwegian national registers, including on the educational paths of 16-year-olds, their socioeconomic background, labour market outcomes, combined with data local labour markets’ exposure to industrial robots. Using the instrumental variable approach, the study explores whether exposure to robots discourages young people from choosing automation-prone vocational tracks.
The webinar will offer an evidence-based perspective on how technological change affects young people’s career decisions and the future supply of skills.
