2026 SkiLMeeT Conference: Workers, Firms, and Skills in the Digital and Green Transition

It is our great pleasure to announce that the SkiLMeeT Conference “Workers, Firms, and Skills in the Digital and Green Transition” will take place on 22-23 October 2026 in Brussels. The two-day format will feature keynote lectures and paper presentations.

To expand the frontiers of knowledge on skills gaps and mismatches, we are interested in papers from researchers across all social science disciplines, particularly contributions that focus on:

  • Effects of the digital and/or the green transition on workers, firms and skills
  • Measurement and analysis of skill demand and supply
  • Skill gaps and skill shortages arising through the digital and/or the green transition
  • Labour-market policies to reduce skill gaps and shortages
  • Education measures to reduce skill gaps and shortages.

Ines Helm is Professor of Economics at JKU Linz. She completed her PhD at University College London and has previously held positions at Stockholm University and LMU Munich. Her research focuses on labour economics and local labour markets, with particular interest in job displacement, wage inequality, and labour market power.
